FAQ

Pictures preserve moments in time, letting you refresh those memories over and over again.  Unfortunately, like any physical medium, film and photographic paper degrade over time, cracking, fading and discoloring as heat, humidity, and improper handling take their toll.

The only way to keep these treasures from being lost forever is to digitally restore and save the images. We can scan your original slide, negative or print (leaving it unharmed), or work on scans you send us (so you keep your originals). Advanced imaging tools like Adobe Photoshop let us fix almost any problem, including:

  • Cracks, tears and holes

  • Yellowing, stains, mold or mildew, dirt and discoloration

  • Faded or washed out image

  • Tone and color changes

If we are unsure about any aspect of the restoration we email a sample file to you for approval before finalizing the work.

We return your original to you along with a printed copy of the digitally improved image and a file on CD. Copies of prints can be the same size as the original or enlarged (8x10" maximum, depends on the quality of the original). Slides and negatives can be printed

If you are not convinced of the importance of photographs in our lives, think about this: If you suddenly discovered that your house was on fire and you had one minute to grab anything, what would you save? Most people choose the family photo album. Money, clothes, etc. can all be replaced but you can't get back the photographs of your history once they're lost. The longer you delay the restoration of a treasured photo, the greater the risk of losing the image forever...
